This commitment is guided by the United Nations (UN) Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights: “Protect, Respect and Remedy”, adopted by the UN Human Rights Council on June 16, 2011.
Intergard do Brasil commits to respecting human rights under the terms of the United Nations International Bill of Human Rights, consisting of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of December 10, 1948, the principles set out in the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights of 1966 and the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights of 1966, among other rights inherent to human dignity.
2. Scope and objectives
This commitment covers our business and our relationships with employees, clients, suppliers, third parties, government and society at large, and aims to provide guidelines for preventing risks to the health and safety of employees and everyone involved, directly or indirectly, in Intergard do Brasil's activities, prioritizing respect for human rights and the need for good practices in the corporate world and in society. In other words, we are a company that respects ethics, morality, good customs and labor, federal, state and municipal legislation, both nationally and internationally, by adopting the human rights described in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Throughout Intergard do Brasil's history, the recommendations of the UN and the International Labour Organization (ILO) have been observed and implemented in the company's business.
Accordingly, in order to give effect to the recommendations of the UN and the ILO, Intergard do Brasil does not allow on its premises, nor does it hire third parties, purchase products or goods, or maintain relationships with companies that, directly or indirectly, disrespect human dignity, engage in discriminatory or degrading practices, exploit child or slave labor, pollute the natural environment, or engage in other conduct contrary to law, ethics, morality and good customs.
3. Company policies
Our Code of Ethics and Conduct is based on principles that sustain an organizational culture focused on valuing people. Respect for human rights and human dignity permeates Intergard do Brasil's internal policies and is aligned with the best practices of corporate governance, sustainable development and social responsibility.

Accordingly, and as a demonstration of the measures taken, Intergard do Brasil, through contractual clauses, requires its partners to respect human rights, human dignity and the environment, to refrain from exploiting child or slave labor, to prohibit discriminatory or degrading conduct, and to commit not to engage in crimes against public and tax order, such as corruption, in addition to the obligation to comply with federal, state and municipal legislation, among other contractual requirements. Should such requirements be violated, Intergard do Brasil has the right to terminate any contracts entered into, applying, in that case, the contractual penalties provided for.
